CLEEF

The Cleveland Lutheran Educational Endowment Fund

The Cleveland Lutheran Educational Endowment Fund, commonly referred to as CLEEF, was established in 1985 with a mission to further the educational program of the CLHSA, largely through annual endowment distributions to the schools’ operating budgets. Since inception, CLEEF has provided over six million dollars in additional income necessary to meet the day-to-day costs associated with running our two schools. Furthermore, CLEEF’s generosity includes an annual distribution of scholarships awarded to recipients based on a student submission and thorough review by the board. To date, the CLEEF board has awarded $320,000 in tuition assistance to deserving students.

CLEEF's purpose is further the educational program of the Cleveland Lutheran High School Association by engaging in a comprehensive deferred and current giving program to raise funds and invest those funds for the benefit of the Association.

This funding would not be possible without the generous donors like you! Please consider making a gift CLEEF today or as a legacy gift through your estate plan.

CLEEF Awards

The Cleveland Lutheran Educational Endowment Fund presents two awards annually in recognition of leadership and special talents demonstrated by servant members of the community and young leaders in our elementary/middle schools. Recipients of the awards are selected by committee by the CLEEF Board of Directors from nominations submitted by community and by elementary/middle school principals.

Outstanding Lutheran School Leadership Award: Recipients of this annual award are adults who have demonstrated unwavering dedication to Lutheran education in Northeast Ohio.

Outstanding Lutheran School Leadership Scholarship: This award is annually presented to eighth grade students who exemplify the qualities of a leader in their school communities and who will be attending Lutheran East or Lutheran West for high school.
