CLHSA Announces Lutheran West Middle School
The Cleveland Lutheran High School Association has announced that starting with the 2022-2023 school year, Lutheran West will offer grades 6-8 in addition to grades 9-12.

The announcement comes after a period of market research, competitive analysis, and extensive planning for logistics and facility use by the school’s established high school student population and the additional middle school students.

In 2018, the Cleveland Lutheran High School Association, which manages Lutheran High School West, purchased the land that includes the Westgate Professional Building (directly adjacent to Lutheran West's property). The first year of operation with grades 6 through 12 will be entirely in the current Lutheran West building, but the school has robust plans underway for building and campus expansion. At some point during the next few years, the Westgate Professional Building will be deconstructed and the Lutheran West facilities will be expanded to accommodate a larger student population.

Lutheran West’s middle school will capitalize on the robust academic and extra-curricular offerings of its high school, providing the vast majority of those programs at the middle school level.

Superintendent & CEO Chris Steinmann states, “The time is right for Lutheran West to expand to offer grades 6-8. We believe we have the resources, facilities, and school community to be able to provide an excellent educational experience for middle school students. We are excited to welcome our first middle schoolers in August of 2022.”

Applications for the 2022-2023 school year will be available for all grades (6-12) starting in the fall of 2021.
