Lutheran East Completes 2nd Mission Trip

ChildrenIn April of 2019, Lutheran East was once again blessed to be able to offer an international mission trip to its junior-year students. Funded in large part by the generosity of Lutheran East alumni and friends, this year’s trip saw students and faculty return to Hato Mayor, Dominican Republic to partner once again with Meeting God in Missions. Students were able to see some of the progress made by last year’s mission trip participants, as well as make marked progress of their own in the poverty-stricken region of Hato Mayor.

Students and faculty chaperones served their fellow humankind, as God commands, with improvements to village structures, distribution of staple food items to families, and spreading of the Gospel through fun, interactive activities with the local children.

The spirit of servant leadership inspired by the mission trip is an incredible gift that Lutheran East students will carry with them into their senior year and beyond. They have returned to Lutheran East and to their local community with a greater sense of purpose, worldliness, and commitment to serving ALL of God’s people.
