Recently, the Development Office highlighted Chapel as a featured program at our schools. Director of Development Ashley Koza interviewed 3 individuals who have been involved with and impacted by Chapel.
"I was raised in a home built on God's word and music - but when I started high school, part of me wanted to focus just on having fun, studying hard, and making friends. God often has other plans for us, though. One Chapel service, as I listened to the service leaders singing praise, I heard my mother's voice in my head, saying, "God gave you a talent; use it wisely, or He will take it away!" The next day, I was invited to sing in the following week's Chapel. Since then, I have been a dedicated member of Lutheran East's Chapel ministry, and it has changed me in every way for the better. At Chapel each week, my hope is that I can help to uplift and inspire my peers and our school community."

"As a high school student at Lutheran West, Chapel services helped me to build a solid foundation of faith. When I went on Valparaiso University, I was able to participate in a number of things that helped to further my faith, including service trips, volunteering at church, leading a women's Bible study, and visiting Wittenberg, Germany, where the Lutheran faith was established. Now as a teacher at Lutheran East, everything has come full circle: during Chapel services and at many other times, I am blessed to get to see my students grow and mature on their own faith journeys, just as I did when I was their age. My hope is that they look back on Chapel as the foundation for the joy that a life following Christ can bring."

"Since my freshman year, I have been actively involved in Chapel, both behind the scenes as a member of the technology team and as a speaker, sharing a message with my peers. Because of these opportunities, I have been able to witness the impact that a great Chapel service can have on the student body -- the energy that radiates from hundreds of high school students when a favorite song is sung; the way they focus on a deep, genuine message; or their heartfelt cheers when seeing the true power of prayer. I'm so grateful to have had these moments as part of my high school experience, and I will carry them with me for the rest of my life."
